What We're Proud of

at Omega

The Omega Chapter of Alpha Gamma Delta was founded at the University of Akron

on March 24, 1922.  This means there are only 14 active chapters of Alpha Gam

older than ours!

In Fall 2000, we took home first place at Songfest with our patriotic salute to the men

and women who fought in the Gulf War!

At the Greek Recognition Ceremony for Spring 2001, we took home nine trophies--

including Praestantia, which is the highest award that is bestowed upon a sorority!

In Summer, 2001, our president Kate Crampton and several of our alumnae members

attended the international Alpha Gamma Delta Conference.  Our Alumnae Chapter made

the honor role in six areas and once again the Collegiate Chapter was a jewel chapter,

meaning we contributed at least $2,000 to the Alpha Gamma Delta Foundation!

Since the addition of 17 new members in Spring of 2001, it has been a bit crowded

at the house.  Not to worry, though, because House Association has decided that

the Omega Chapter will either renovate and enlarge our existing house or we will build

a new one!  How exciting to know that we will be able to have meetings and dinners at

the house without feeling like a can of sardines!
